The Government has responded to the Portas Review of the high street’s future by announcing a new package of measures aimed at helping high streets to thrive. The measures include funding for a further 12 Portas Pilots, a High Street Innovation Fund and a National Markets Day.
The Government will run a number of pilots to test the Town Team idea in the Portas Review and pilot some of the other ideas and recommendations.
The first round of applications for Portas Pilots ended on the 30 March 2012 and the second round of applications is open until 30 June 2012. Unsuccessful applications from round one will automatically be considered in round two.
